Unit 66 - 3D modelling

Back in October I began work on my 3D modelling unit, the aim of this unit was to re-create a toy truck known as 'Tippy' the beloved class mascot. and once we created the model, we would have to manipulate it to show five different expressions; Joy, Anger, Confusion, Surprise and Love

The first step in the process was to measure every small detail of the truck to ensure I could make the model as close as possible to being exactly the same

using Adobe Illustrator I created a version of these measurements that I could import into 3Ds Max to give me guides for modelling within the scene I was working in. once i had all my measurements in place, I managed to create the model in about 5 hours and it took me another hour to texture and add lighting to the scene

next comes the most difficult part in my opinion, which was manipulating the model to express emotions. Some of them were not a problem such as Joy and Surprise, but the others took a little longer to get my head around

 Anger

 Surprise

 Confusion

 Joy

 Love

the hardest one to get right was Love, as it doesn't have a common facial expression that represents it, so I had to focus more on the truck's body language and after about 5 different attempts I managed to get one I thought was good.
